Special sessions are very small and specialized events to be held during the conference as a set of oral and poster presentations that are highly specialized in some particular theme or consisting of the works of some particular international project. The goal of special sessions (minimum 4 papers; maximum 9) is to provide a focused discussion on innovative topics. All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book, under an ISBN reference, and on digital support. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The proceedings are submitted for indexation by Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index, DBLP, EI and SCOPUS.

Business process management (BPM) is a holistic management approach focused on aligning all aspects of an organization with the wants and needs of clients. During the last years we have been facing major transformations on most IT departments and on the used approaches to achieve those transformations. Modelling processes in organizations have several challenges and quite known problems still to be discussed and solved. BPM is key to obtain higher levels of coordination across the organizations and increase efficiency. Nowadays are emerging new modelling languages for business processes and for enterprise architectures in a broader sense. The combination of traditional Business Process Management techniques with "social" tools and technologies tend to facilitate business improvement efforts. BPM has also a Human-centric approach that considers human skills and activities first and uses automated functions to support them. There is also a focus on Process mining that aims to provide techniques and tools for discovering process, control, data, organizational, and social structures from event logs.

With the increasing popularity and availability of Internet-based technologies, as well as the proliferation of digital computing devices and their use in communication, huge amounts of Human generated content is produced every day in the form of documents, email, instant messaging, social network sites, blogs, and other textual corpora. As a result, we have witnessed an increased demand for systems and algorithms capable of mining textual data, seeking interesting characteristics, hidden patterns, structure, trends, knowledge and key relationships within these large textual corpora. Text mining, combining the disciplines of data mining, information extraction, information retrieval, text categorization, probabilistic modeling, linear algebra, machine learning, and computational linguistics, is a new interdisciplinary field that emerged to address these issues. Examples of emergent applications include metadata generation, visualization techniques, information extraction, text segmentation and classification, text summarization, and trend analysis, to name a few.

Modern enterprises face a strong pressure to increase agility and competitiveness, to operate on the global market, and to engage in manifold alliances. However, the vast majority of strategic initiatives in enterprises fail, meaning that enterprises are unable to gain success from their strategy. The key reason for these failures is the lack of coherence and consistency among the various components of an enterprise. At the same time, the need to operate as a unified and integrated whole is becoming increasingly important. Currently, these challenges are dominantly addressed from a functional or managerial perspective, as advocated by the management and organization sciences, and as implemented in MBA programs. Such knowledge is indeed necessary for managing an enterprise, but it is inadequate for bringing about changes in a fully systematic and integrated way. To do that, one needs to take a constructional, ontological or engineering perspective.

The work of interest entails the widest possible experimental environments encompassing innovative and collaborative services and processes between European institutions and takes as reference a broad spectrum of factors in the field of European Integrated Services, arising from the European legal framework, as well as from collaborative studies and pilot projects.
