Brief Bio
Rauno Pirinen is the founder of the Integrative Research, Education and Regional Development Model at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Espoo, Finland. His current interest areas of postdoctoral research include: adoption and strategic use of information intensive services and systems, knowledge transferring and sharing in regional-national-global innovation systems, integration of higher education, research and regional development, emergent critical systems and services and theoretical foundations.

Brief Bio
Commander Fernando Marques is responsible for developing the EU Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE) test-bed, in the context of the EUCISE2020 initiative, and for developing the Portuguese Maritime Information Sharing Environment (NIPIM@R). He has coordinated several international experts during other initiatives of the CISE roadmap, such as the BlueMassMed and the CoopP projects. He is the national representative at the Member States Experts Group on Integrated Maritime Surveillance and is a member of the Copernicus Committee. His research interests entail Maritime Surveillance and Monitoring, as well as Information Sharing.

SCOPE

The KMIS 2015 special session (ISE): Information Sharing Environments to foster cross-sectorial and cross-border collaboration between public authorities aims the dissemination of the European Union’s Common Information Sharing Environment (EU CISE 2020) initiative and the steps forward along the Maritime CISE roadmap. The work of interest entails the widest possible experimental environments encompassing innovative and collaborative services and processes between European institutions and takes as reference a broad spectrum of factors in the field of European Integrated Services, arising from the European legal framework, as well as from collaborative studies and pilot projects.



TOPICS:
The suggested focus of this special session entails completed studies in information systems research, case studies or design science research studies, including questions such as: how to improve system’s interoperability; how to integrate existing and new information systems using different technologies; how to find information services provided by other associates; how to translate the data model and the relationships between the different data entities to a set of services; what is the best way to represent data entity relationships in a structured representation language; how can services provide efficient interoperability with participants while having a clear separation between their local environments and the common information sharing solutions; and how can information sharing participants expose the same service multiple times.
In addition, the determination of innovative requirements and valuable impacts for the dissemination of international consortiums research work, customers and citizen taking into account different students, learners, and customer roles like co-creator, co-producer, researcher, content or service builder and consumer.

After thorough reviewing by the special session program committee, all accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on digital support - and submitted for indexation by Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index, DBLP, EI and SCOPUS.
SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/) and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
