Brief Bio
Rauno Pirinen is the founder of the Integrative Research, Education and Regional Development Model at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Espoo, Finland. His current interest areas of postdoctoral research include: adoption and strategic use of information intensive services and systems, knowledge transferring and sharing in regional-national-global innovation systems, integration of higher education, research and regional development, emergent critical systems and services and theoretical foundations.

SCOPE

The KMIS 2017 special session (ISE): Information Sharing Environments to foster cross-sectorial and cross-border collaboration between public authorities aims the dissemination of the European Union’s information sharing initiatives like the Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE) and collaborative RDI projects such as CoopP, PERSEUS, EUCISE2020, #WINLandFI and MARISA. The work of interest entails the widest possible experimental environments encompassing innovative and collaborative services and processes between European security stakeholders and takes as reference a broad spectrum of factors in the field of European Integrated Services, arising from the European legal framework.

TOPICS OF INTEREST

The suggested focus of this special session entails completed studies in information systems research, case studies or design science research, including themes such as:

Data Fusion: a comprehensive research and development which addresses on the security communities with a data fusion methods and functionalities to correlate and fuse various heterogeneous and homogeneous data and information from different sources, including Internet and social networks, with the aim to improve information exchange, situational awareness, resilience, decision-making and reaction capabilities.

Studies of Critical Infrastructures and Systems: focus in pressures of critical infrastructures and systems, such like energy, food, water, air, climate or logistic shocks and policy response impacts to comprehensive security. How resilient current critical systems and policy-making processes are to security related risks and threats? Key-scopes followed: studies of forms of analysis, co-creation of interactions and recommendations, structures and artificial intelligence for the stakeholder’s decision making, and aspects of knowledge management and information sharing.

International Comprehensive Security Learning: determination of innovative requirements and high valuable impacts for solving international security pedagogy, collective learning and training challenges taking into account different students, learners and stakeholders roles like co-creator, co-producer, researcher, content or service builder, consumer or stakeholder in the field of critical infrastructure or system.

After thorough reviewing by the special session program committee, all accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on digital support - and submitted for indexation by Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index, DBLP, SCOPUS and EI.
